~ This chapter is directed at the Jews, and their keeping of the LAW. Paul is telling them that it is not enough to mrerely posses and know the LAW, but they must obey the LAW.
~ VERSE ONE = In the last chapter, Paul was telling the Gentiles that they were without excuse. He starts this chapter by telling the Jews that they are without excuse as well. This would have been alarming to many of the Jews, especially those looking down their noses at the Gentiles, and thinking themselves so much more superior. "You who pass judgement"....kind of a warning to not judge someones else when you are in fact guilty of that very things. The Jews were condeming the Gentiles for not keeping the Law perfectly.....but they in fact do not keep it pefectly.....and have condemned themselves.
